Most answers should land within a minute and a half. Rehearse with a timer until your pacing feels steady without rushing key details. If interrupted, summarize the result quickly, then offer to expand on the action, preventing derailment while respecting the interviewer’s direction and time.

Favor concrete verbs and sensory specifics: “drafted schedule,” “called six vendors,” “tested three prototypes.” Avoid clichés and acronyms unless you briefly define them. Vary sentence length for rhythm, and keep transitions short so listeners experience momentum that mirrors your initiative, teamwork, and thoughtful follow-through.

When asked for more, repeat the question, then answer with the next layer of detail: the risk you weighed, the tradeoff accepted, or the person you consulted. Close with a short recap of the outcome so your narrative structure stays intact despite detours and clarifications.
